UNE PASSION POUR LA CERAMIQUE
LAUG est le nom d'artiste de mon arrière-grand-mère qui s'est consacrée pendant 50 ans à la céramique. A 70 ans passés, elle passait ses nuits dans son atelier à poursuivre ses créations en céramique, notamment les arts de la table qui ont été commercialisés aux Galeries Lafayette après-guerre.
Les bijoux en céramique émaillée qui sont actuellement réédités datent de la période arts décoratifs, entre 1920 et 1930. Ils étaient achetés par ses ami.e.s proches, et vendus à Londres et Francfort.
Très inspirée par la nature, ses créations comportent souvent des motifs floraux ce qui confère une grâce et style intemporel.

Ils sont classés en 3 collections
La collection CLASSIQUE
Réédition des bijoux LAUG à l'identique, en petits nombre, conformes aux originaux et fabriqués artisanalement en Provence par des céramistes confirmées. L'émail doré utilisé est de 12 carats. Certaines pièces nécessitent cinq cuissons pour être parfaites.
La collection NATURE
Les bijoux de LAUG aux motifs floraux (Hortensias, Asters, Anémones) se retrouvent sur des tours de cou et boucles d'oreilles. Ces bijoux en petit nombre sont fabriqués au fur et à mesure des commandes. Ils n'existent que peu de pièces en stock.
La collection PEACE SIGN
M'inspirant de modèles de LAUG, j'ai intégré le signe de la paix, PEACE AND LOVE, dans des feuilles, des cœurs, et des rectangles pour colliers, pendentifs, et broches.
Pour découvrir la personnalité de LAUG, son entourage et son époque, les mémoires de jeune fille de ma grand-mère, Constance Coline, femme de lettres, vont être rééditées : « LE MATIN VU DU SOIR, De la belle époque aux années folles » (1980, Edition Anthropos, épuisé).
Laure dite LAUG étant mon arrière-grand-mère, je dispose de tous les droits.

LAUG, A LOVE OF CERAMICS
LAUG is the professional name used by my great-grandmother, who devoted fifty years of her life to her Ceramics. Past the age of 70, she continued to spend her nights in her studio working on new creations, in particular ‘Table-Ware’, some of which was sold, after the War, by the Galeries Lafayette in Paris.
The Jewelry in enameled ceramic, which is currently reproduced, dates from the ‘Decorative Arts’ period between 1920 & 1930. It was bought by her circle of close friends and sold also in London and Frankfurt.
Largely inspired by Nature, her creations often comprised floral motifs, giving them a timeless grace and style.

There are three Collections of LAUG Jewels :
The CLASSIC Collection
This collection comprises identical reproductions of the original LAUG Jewels, in limited numbers, as similar as possible and made now by craftsmen in Provence who are experienced in this ceramic work. The gold enamel used is 12 carats. Some pieces require firing five times to attain the perfection sought after.
The NATURE Collection
The LAUG Jewels of floral designs (Hydrangeas, Asters and Anemones) include a collection of earrings, rings, brooches and chokers. These select jewels are produced in small numbers only following special orders. We carry very little stock of these pieces but they can be produced as required.
The “PEACE SIGN” Collection
Inspired by the original LAUG designs, I have incorporated the famous peace sign “PEACE and LOVE” superimposed on leaves, hearts and rectangles for necklaces, pendants and brooches.
To discover the personality of LAUG, her society, and her period, the memoirs of my Grandmother, Constance COLINE as a girl, will be republished : “LE MATIN VU DU SOIR, de la Belle Époque aux Années Folles” (The Morning seen from the Evening, from the “Belle Époque” to the “Years of Folly” : originally published in 1980 by ‘Edition Anthropos’, but now out of print.).
